What is the function of a music video, A quick recap of lesson 1 (14/09/11);

Before we discussed what the function of a music video is we as a class discussed what makes a music video a music video.

Below is a table of what we as a class believe makes a music video a music video.

After being able to identify what makes a music video a music video we as a class discussed what the function and purpose of a music video is.

·         Promoting brands and films (e.g. P Diddy has his own vodka)

·         Establishes Genre

·         Provides visual link across promo material  

·         Provides visual pleasure to the audience.
